Code Blue for Lung Cancer – a powerful documentary served as the centerpiece the awareness campaign. The messages helped to spread the life-saving message that as a nation, we must do more to raise awareness about the number-one cancer killer – lung cancer. Code Blue explores the devastating impact of this disease on four families and how lung cancer deaths can be reduced. Early detection is vital, and since 85% of lung cancer diagnoses are smoking-related, quitting is critical. This project was developed for the American Legacy Foundation and disseminated in partnership with the National Association of Broadcasters in 2006 and 2007. The campaign included:
Capitol Hill launch with 66 members of Congress
Television broadcast on ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, and UNIVISION affiliates
Station guide for programmers
Bites and b-roll (BBR) packages for news stations reached 54 markets
Public Service Announcements (PSAs)
English- and Spanish-language audio for broadcast and BBRs
