SOBER, SAFE & SATISFIED: Negotiating for Sobriety and Safer Sex in New Relationships
State of the Art, Inc. has just completed a five-site quantitative evaluation of Sober, Safe and Satisfied: Negotiating for Sobriety and Safer Sex (SSS) program involving 260 men at substance abuse treatment centers across the U.S.
SSS is a NIDA funded, computer-based, HIV/AIDS prevention program designed to support gay men in recovery from substance abuse as they build new intimate relationships founded on sobriety and safer sex.
The research sites include The Friends Research Institute in Los Angeles, Pride Institute in Minneapolis, Howard Brown Health Center in Chicago, Walden House Inc., in San Francisco, and the LGBT Center in New York. Results of the study will be announced in mid-February. Presently, State of the Art, Inc is seeking partners to collaborate in the widest possible national distribution campaign of the SSS intervention. |
